Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the department, direct team members, manage inventory, and uphold pricing integrity with attention to detail. This fast-paced role focuses on delivering high-quality guest service and operational excellence.

You will train staff, ensure proper meat, cheese, and CMS preparation, and partner with leadership to drive results while adhering to safety standards and company policies. Availability includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and Convenient Meal Solutions (CMS) throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

About The Position

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
