Job summary

River Valley Co-op in Easthampton, MA is seeking a Prepared Foods Kitchen Shift Leader to supervise daily kitchen operations for a full-service deli. You will help meet goals for sales, margin, labor, and customer service while supporting the Prepared Foods Manager.

You will prepare and cook items, label with ingredients, monitor freshness, manage inventories, and lead a positive, safety-conscious team across opening and closing shifts starting as early as 4 a.m. and ending after 10 p.m.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of Prepared Foods experience.
• Experience cooking for a deli, restaurant, or catering.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work varied shifts starting at 4 a.m. and ending after 10 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook items for retail sale following established procedures and specifications.
• Label and date all items with ingredients.
• Ensure freshness by rotating, dating, and promoting sale of short-dated items.
• Regularly inspect product quality and monitor waste and inventory.
• Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate with managers for shift operations.
