The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to food safety regulations. As part of the deli team, you will prepare items for the cold case, salads, and hot bars, while engaging customers and maintaining speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills demonstrated in retail or food service.
• Desire to understand food production and basic cooking techniques.
• Effective communication and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency.
• Good basic math skills; ability to obtain a food handlers permit after employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars per customer requests.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to the recipe with kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ensure all deli items are labeled, dated, covered, rotated, and monitored for quality and freshness.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the deli department and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Perform essential functions as assigned by store leadership.
