Job summary

Haggen, Inc. is seeking a Food Service/Cook Team Member for the Delicatessen department in Washington.

You will train and mentor crew, prepare fresh salads and entrées, slice meats and cheeses, and merchandise products following company policies. You will assist leadership with planning, scheduling, and coaching, conduct daily team huddles, manage stock, rotate merchandise, and maintain safety and cleanliness in a kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Department operations experience or equivalent education to understand each position within the department.
• Ability to learn product knowledge and evaluate delicatessen items.
• Ability to follow safety procedures for knives and food equipment.
• Strong work ethic and time management to meet duties and schedules.
• Knowledge of basic sales transactions and discount calculations.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train deli department crew members to educate and upsell products.
• Prepare delicatessen items, slice meat and cheese, and merchandise to policy.
• Assist leadership with planning, scheduling, coaching and discipline when needed.
• Lead daily team huddles to communicate goals and guest service expectations.
• Write and place orders, check in deliveries, and organize storage areas.
• Maintain rotation, freshness, displays and POS maintenance.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and sanitation in the work area.
