Job summary

Grocery Outlet in La Mirada, CA is seeking a reliable Deli Department Lead to own deli operations. The role focuses on 100% pre-packaged products with a fixed morning schedule and competitive hourly pay.

You will manage receiving, stocking, FIFO, cleanliness, and assist as backup cashier. Schedule is Tue/Wed/Fri/Sat 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 30–35 hours per week, with lifting up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of deli or grocery store experience.

Join Our Team as a Deli Department Lead at Grocery Outlet – La Mirada, CA!

Grocery Outlet in La Mirada, CA, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Deli Department Lead to join our team. With a fixed morning schedule and competitive pay ranging from $17.50–$19.00 per hour, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Responsibilities

As the Deli Department Lead, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our deli department, which features 100% pre-packaged products—no slicing, cutting, or weighing required! Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Receiving, inspecting, and stocking deliveries while maintaining accurate product rotation (FIFO) and checking expiration dates daily.
• Keeping the walk-in cooler, backroom, and department clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Ensuring shelves are fully faced and products are displayed properly.
• Supporting the front-end registers as a backup cashier when needed.
• Completing assigned tasks efficiently and independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Fixed Work Schedule

This position requires a fixed schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 30–35 hours per week. These days and hours are mandatory, and additional hours may be available based on store needs. If you are unable to meet this schedule, we kindly ask that you do not apply.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a deli department or grocery store.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with deli and refrigerated grocery products.
• Experience with receiving, stocking, FIFO rotation, and expiration-date checks.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated cooler for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• High standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
• Ability to assist as a backup cashier when needed.

Preferred Skills

While not required, candidates with the following skills will receive additional consideration:

• Electric Pallet Jack Experience – Strongly Preferred.
• Forklift Experience – Major Advantage.

Training and authorization will be provided for any equipment operation.
