Job Title: Deli Cook - Full Time w/ Benefits at Cosentino's Price Chopper #117

Position Objective: To produce, execute, and deliver outstanding prepared foods in freshness, taste, quality, and presentation in a timely and efficient manner. Assist in all aspects of the deli to ensure a Deli team that delivers the product and service customers expect.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Deli Manager.

Status: Non-exempt position.

Knowledge and Certifications
  • A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Completion of ongoing training as per Cosentino's Learning Plan.
  • Minimum one year of cooking experience in a deli, bakery, catering, or banquet operation.
  • Minimum six months of experience in deli or food service production.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation guidelines.
Skills and Job Functions
  • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and seasonal menu items with the department manager.
  • Practice appropriate portion control and ensure all foods meet safety, health, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • Supervise and motivate kitchen team members, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Manage inventory, monitor product dates, and ensure proper product rotation.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and promoting sales.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
  • Follow all recipes, menus, promotions, and standards.
Physical Abilities
  • Reaching, twisting, lifting up to 20 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, squatting, and working in cold conditions.
