Job summary

Jobtailor in United States (Kentucky/Northern region) seeks a retail team member who excels in customer service, handles cashier duties, and maintains safe, organized stores with food items. You will manage displays, assist customers, and support inventory control.

The role requires knowledge of food safety, basic math and English communication, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. A flexible schedule and background check are expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail and/or retail merchandising and customer service.
• Must meet the minimum age requirement of 21 years old.
• Knowledge of basic food safety requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with customers and coworkers.
• Basic math and computer skills to operate cash registers and time and record-keeping systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours preferred.
• Current food handlers card or ability to obtain one.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to sit, stand, squat, bend, and repeatedly lift up to 55 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Assist customers browsing inventory or checking out at the counter.
• Perform cashier responsibilities, including accepting payments and issuing receipts.
• Display and organize products in store aisles and refrigerator/freezer.
• Maintain store appearance through dusting, cleaning, and restocking merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise and tracking inventory.
• Monitor customers to assist with loss prevention.
• Assist with preparation of displays and promotions.
• Prepare sandwiches and other food items according to customer orders and management instructions.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, training, PPE procedures, and regulations.
• Identify and communicate workplace hazards and help correct unsafe actions or conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned
