Houchens Food Group is seeking a Deli Clerk to rotate, stock, price, and package merchandise in a fast-paced deli environment. The role involves operating deli equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and lifting up to 50 pounds while following safety guidelines.

• Rotate, stock, and straighten merchandise; assist customers as needed.
• Maintain clean work area and comply with safety policies; lift up to 50 pounds.

• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures
• Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment
• Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds

• Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines
• Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
• Perform all job functions with limited supervision
• May be required to decorate cakes
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
• Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager
• Other duties as assigned
