Job summary

Barren Inc. in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Deli Clerk to support daily operations in the deli and bakery area.

You will rotate, stock, and straighten merchandise, price items according to guidelines, and assist with packing and serving customers, while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. This full-time role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in cold environments, and follow established procedures for product prep and unloading deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
• Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap / or container.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment.
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Cleans all deli-bakery department tools and equipment.
• Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products.
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
• Perform all job functions with limited supervision.
• May be required to decorate cakes.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
• Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager
• Other duties as assigned

• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures
• Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment
• Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
