Job summary

Rosauers Supermarkets Inc. is hiring for a deli-focused role in Hood River, OR. You will craft an enjoyable shopping experience, greet customers, listen to needs, and help with deli items including slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing.

Responsibilities include order prep, display updates, and maintaining safety and cleanliness; collaboration with the deli team is essential. 18+ and a Food Worker Card are required, with background checks and lifting duties part of the job.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old required.
• Background check required before employment.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs.
• Food Worker Card required.

Responsibilities

• Create an all-around enjoyable shopping experience for customers.
• Greet customers as they enter or leave the store.
• Listen to customers to understand their needs.
• Suggest, slice, weigh, package and price deli items.
• Prepare special orders, take-out items and party trays.
• Update displays, cases and other customer-facing areas.
• Ensure displays and products meet company standards.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Keep work areas clean and ready to serve customers.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Help lead and motivate the deli team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A few things you’ll need…

• Candidates must be 18+ years or older
• Complete a pre-employment background check
• Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs.
• Food Worker Card

• High level of energy with strong customer service skills
• 3 years previous deli counter or food preparation experience (preferred)
