Job summary

Safeway in Lake Stevens, WA is seeking a Deli Clerk to provide friendly customer service while helping customers select deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and grab-and-go items. You will slice, portion, and assemble items and keep displays stocked and appealing throughout the shift.

You will maintain freshness, operate slicers and prep equipment safely, and keep the deli area clean and organized in a fast-paced environment. Prior deli or customer service experience is preferred and 18+ is required.

Qualifications

• Clear communication when assisting customers in person or by phone
• Experience preparing deli products, including slicing and portioning
• Knowledge of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot case items
• Accurate portioning, labeling and pricing
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain workflow in a fast-paced environment
• Keep display cases stocked, clean and visually appealing
• Process transactions and give accurate change using register systems
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company procedures
• Comfort working in varying temperatures and standing for extended periods
