Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Deli Clerk in New Jersey to prepare fresh foods, slice meats, assemble grab‑and‑go items, and deliver a welcoming customer experience. You will help customers choose from deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and prepared items while keeping the department stocked and clean.

You'll work in a fast-paced environment, follow food safety guidelines, and operate slicers and prep equipment after training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate slicers and food preparation equipment safely.
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold deli items and assemble orders.
• Slice meats and portion cheeses for display and grab‑and‑go.
• Keep display cases stocked, clean, and labeled with prices.
• Assist customers and take orders in person or by phone.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
