Job summary

TravelCenters of America seeks a friendly Deli Clerk to assist guests at the deli counter, slice meats and cheeses, and handle transactions with a POS system. You’ll keep displays fresh and help promote deli items while delivering excellent customer service.

Candidates should be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Prior deli experience helps but isn’t required; basic computer/POS skills and cash handling are a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior deli clerk experience preferred, but not required.
• Basic computer/POS knowledge preferred.
• Cash handling skills preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on great customer service.
• Serve each customer courteously, quickly and efficiently with a positive attitude.
• Slice meats and cheeses, take inventory, and promote deli items.
• Process transactions on a POS register.
• Clean and prepare workstations while following safety guidelines.
• Update displays and promotions; maintain clean, welcoming displays.
• Establish communication with leaders and co-workers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
