Qualifications

• Customer interaction and communication when taking orders in person or by phone
• Food preparation skills for deli products including slicing, assembling, and portioning
• Knowledge of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot case items
• Attention to detail in portioning, labeling, pricing, and order completion
• Strong organization and time management for multitasking while keeping workflow efficient
• Merchandising awareness to keep displays stocked, clean, and visually consistent
• Cash handling and accurate change using register systems (location varies)
• Operational awareness including food safety, sanitation, and company procedures
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with changing customer demand
• Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs in varying temperatures

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh foods and deli items to meet customer needs and shop standards
• Assist customers with deli selections and provide friendly, efficient service
• Slice meats and cheeses, assemble trays, and prepare grab-and-go options
• Stock displays, label products, and ensure cases are clean and organized
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company procedures during all tasks
• Operate slicers and prep equipment safely after appropriate training
• Maintain accurate pricing, portioning, and order fulfillment
• Support teammates to keep the department running smoothly
• Remain flexible with schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
