Position Objective

To assist customers in their shopping experience by producing high-quality deli products and delivering courteous, efficient service to all deli customers. This position reports to the Deli Manager.

Status

This is a non-exempt position.

Knowledge

Essential: A food handling permit obtained within the first 14 days of employment, ongoing training as per Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and label products efficiently and accurately.
• Practice appropriate portion control and inventory management.
• Monitor product dates and rotate stock properly.
• Prepare hot and cold deli items, set up and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Unload shipments and stock merchandise carefully.
• Meet productivity standards and provide excellent customer service.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Operate, clean, and maintain equipment safely.
• Follow health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and basic math and reading skills.

Physical Abilities

• Reach overhead, twist, lift up to 5 lbs regularly, push/pull up to 10 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, occasionally lift up to 35 lbs, bend/squat, work in cold conditions.
• Optional: climb ladders up to 5 ft.
