Job summary

Uwajimaya is seeking a Deli Clerk in Bellevue, WA to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, grocery setting. You will greet customers, suggest items, assist with inquiries, and maintain a clean, organized deli area while following health and safety standards.

Starting pay is $22.66 per hour with range $22.66–$27.47; experience-based advancement. This role requires 18+, high school diploma, retail know-how, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; benefits and growth

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail experience and knowledge of Asian products preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math proficiency, familiarity with ten-key/calculator, and comfortable using computers.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts.
• Ability to collaborate with team and work independently.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Greet customers, assist with inquiries, and offer recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized deli department.
• Adhere to health department and company policies for a safe environment.
• Take and fulfill customer orders with portion control.
• Monitor product levels and communicate needs to cooks.
• Ensure wrapping, labeling, pricing, logging, and dating of products; remove expired items.
• Prepare and package deli condiments for cases.
• Operate the cash register following guidelines and procedures.
• Continuously enhance product knowledge to improve customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Deli Clerk at Uwajimaya prioritizes excellent customer service by providing unparalleled interaction, product knowledge, and assistance in food preparation.

Positions Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and offer recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing deli department.
• Ensure adherence to health department and company policies to maintain a safe environment for both dining and workplace activities.
• Take and fulfill customer orders while adhering to portion control guidelines.
• Monitor and communicate low or attention-needed product levels to cooks.
• Ensure accurate wrapping, labeling, pricing, logging, and dating of products; remove expired items.
• Prepare and package deli food condiments for cold and hot cases.
• Operate the cash register following Cashier Guidelines & Procedures, maintaining stocked supplies.
• Continuously enhance product knowledge to improve customer service and satisfaction.
• Other duties as assigned.

Starting Pay: $22.66/hr., Depending on Experience
Pay Range: $22.66 - $27.47/hr.
