Overview

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service. You may arrange vegetables or sliced meats for sandwiches or assist with catering orders, demonstrating knowledge of our meats, cheeses, and deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. Opportunities for growth include learning about products, equipment, and customer service excellence. We value individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly, with a positive attitude and good interaction skills.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills, ability to follow directions, and work in a team.
• Ability to answer phones and handle special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs., move product up to 20 feet, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Other duties as assigned.
