Job summary

Brookhaven Market in Mokena, IL is looking for a Full-Time Deli Clerk. You will operate the deli counter, slice and weigh meats and cheeses, and keep the case stocked and appealing for customers.

Deli Counter Role

As a Full-Time Deli Clerk at Brookhaven Market in Mokena, IL, you’ll keep the deli counter humming—serving up neatly sliced meats and cheeses, packaged and weighed just right. You’ll also help the case look its best by keeping it clean, stocked, and ready for the next order. Friendly, quick conversations matter here: you’ll help customers pick their favorites and answer questions with confidence. You’ll operate deli equipment safely and stick to food-safety rules, while pitching in with restocking and basic inventory support.

What you’ll need:

• Must be 18 years or older to use the deli slicers
• Previous experience in a deli or food service environment is a plus but not required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of scheduled shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

A Typical Shift

You’ll start by getting the deli area ready for the rush—checking the case looks sharp and making sure everything’s set for smooth service. As customers roll in, you’ll chat through their go-to favorites, offer quick suggestions, and keep orders moving with care and accuracy. Between guests, you’ll reset your station, tidy up, and keep an eye on what’s running low so the team stays a step ahead. By the end of the day, you’ll feel good knowing you helped turn everyday shopping into something delicious.
