Job summary

Food Lion in Salisbury, NC is seeking a Deli/Bakery Associate to provide quality customer service and maintain department standards. You will handle ordering, receiving, preparation, labeling, and display of merchandise while ensuring food safety and sanitation.

You will work closely with teammates to deliver fast, friendly service, minimize shrink, and follow company policies and safety guidelines. Prior retail or food handling experience is a plus; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service in the Deli Bakery Department.
• Provide courteous and helpful service to customers and associates.
• Follow manuals for processing, labeling, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying merchandise.
• Ensure proper sanitation and food handling in the department.
• Understand and use company tools such as inventory and ordering systems.
• Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines; report accidents and hazards.
• Wear Food Lion uniform and maintain neat appearance while on duty.
• Complete CBT and training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
