Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with recommendations.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer specifications.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to reduce shrink.
• Recommend deli/bakery/bistro items to meet customer needs.
• Use deli equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Prepare food to company standards and label/inventory ingredients.
• Monitor product quality and dates; action as needed.
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs for cases and coolers.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
