Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Food Clerk to join our customer‑focused team in Kentucky. You will help create a fresh, welcoming store environment and support multiple Fresh departments with enthusiasm.

You will build positive connections with customers, share product knowledge, maintain attractive displays, and follow safety procedures to keep operations running smoothly. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or food service is helpful, but not required.
• Strong listening and communication skills are essential for helping customers effectively.
• Comfort learning and using job-specific technology (POS, scanners, tablets).
• Attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
