Job summary

ShopRite of Rochelle Park is seeking an Appy/Deli Clerk to support the daily operation of the Appy/Deli Department. You will assist the Appy/Deli Manager, prepare products for sale, and maintain a neat, inviting display while delivering a great customer experience.

The position emphasizes safety, friendliness, presentation and efficiency, with opportunities to learn merchandising and display skills in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and understand English clearly.
• Basic arithmetic and math skills required.
• Operate department equipment (slicer, scales, wrapping gear, etc.).
• Able to stand, bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and handle fresh foods.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Work well with others and follow schedules and policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate slicing equipment and related tools.
• Replenish Appy/Deli products and prepare items for sale.
• Receive, date, price, store and rotate merchandise per procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe work environment; report equipment issues.
• Unload deliveries and move merchandise 25–50 lbs as needed.
• Monitor inventory, stock displays, and ensure accuracy of pricing.
• Adhere to sanitation standards and safety policies at all times.
• Assist in cashiering or customer service as required.
