Job summary

Applied Research Test Technology Division in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Design and Requirements Engineer to integrate COTS software with test articles and research platforms, and to support defense-related ordinance and energetics research. You will assist with program management, planning and budgeting, and status reporting, and you must obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with systems integration of hardware and software (COTS and Proprietary).
• Ability to read schematic diagrams and support test setups.
• Supervise layout, fabrication, assembly and installation of experimental hardware.
• Experience with technical writing and collaboration.
• Prototyping, simulating and testing integrated sensor systems.
• Knowledge of SEBoK.
• Mechanical and electrical operations principles.
• Project management of up to $2M/year.
• Familiar with data communications hardware and digital protocols.
• Technical drawing.
• AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
• Lead specialized and cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Interface with customers/executives and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
• Support engineering design development and manage system requirements.
• Assist with engineering calculations, design drawings and estimates.
• Technical understanding of defense operations (ATO on DOD networks).
• Develop server-based hardware architectures with diverse I/O.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and reports.
