Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies seeks a Statistician to support defense system development and testing. This on-site role at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to plan and apply statistical methods to meet performance requirements.

Ideal candidates will have Bayesian inference and time-series analysis experience, plus a clear path to Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, applied math, operations research, or similar.
• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years with PhD; or 9 years with HS diploma.
• 3 years practical statistical experience in industry or academia.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• United States citizenship required and cannot sponsor work visa due to federal requirements of contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide statistical expertise to acquisition programs and research projects.
• Lead development of test strategies, technical test designs, and post-test analysis.
• Engage and mentor program team members in statistical methods.
• Support studies on AI/ML metrics and validation of models and simulations.
• Communicate solutions to leadership orally and in writing.
