Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Defense Staff Officer to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War in Arlington, VA. The role requires expertise across intelligence analysis and strategic operations to advise DoD and IC special operations.

The position demands active TS/SCI clearance, 100% onsite in Arlington, and a focus on developing executive briefings and policy guidance for senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2-3+ years of experience supporting national security, intelligence, and strategic operations.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends, assess risks and develop actionable recommendations.
• Experience preparing executive-level briefings and talking points for senior leadership.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple organizations and stakeholders in complex mission environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience participating in interagency working groups or cross-functional teams preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes national security environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond rapidly to high-priority and time-sensitive requests, providing leadership with accurate information and actionable guidance under tight deadlines.

Compensation

• Total compensation based on experience level - $100,000-$105,000+
