Job summary

Umbra is looking for a Defense Director to grow and lead a portfolio focused on integrating space-based capabilities into the nation's defense architecture. This role interfaces with government customers, shaping product strategy and ensuring development aligns with U.S. space leadership.

The candidate will lead a high-performing team in addressing mission needs of DoD and IC customers, focusing on program execution, proposals, and strategic campaign development. Successful candidates will exhibit exceptional communication skills and a deep engagement with Umbra's technologies.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of professional experience working in program management, supporting USG contracts or aerospace and defense domain.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Proven ability to manage technical development and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to support US space-based defense priorities.
• Execute multiple contracts and manage program lifecycle.
• Lead proposal development and RFI responses.
