CFD Research Corporation invites applications for a Program Financial Analyst based in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on financial management of large defense programs, collaborating with Program Managers, contracts, and finance teams to deliver timely cost performance analysis.

The ideal candidate has solid Excel skills, experience with government contracting, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for program leadership.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with government contract types (FFP, Cost Plus, T&M, OTA).
• Experience with program financial management, EAC/ETC forecasting, earned value concepts or project controls.
• Strong financial and quantitative analysis skills; ability to communicate data to leaders.
• Degree in accounting or STEM is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years related experience; 5–8 years preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to develop and maintain detailed financial forecasts and reporting models.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis and reporting for large defense programs, including costs, budgets, forecasts, and performance.
• Develop and maintain program financial forecasts (ETC, EAC).
• Monitor burn rates, FTE utilization, funding, and expenditures vs. plan.
• Analyze variances and communicate impacts to leadership.
• Develop financial trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Prepare data for PMRs and reviews with management and customers.
• Work with PMs to update labor and cost forecasts across tasks.
• Analyze staffing trends to ensure alignment with program plans.
• Support revenue, cost, profit/margin analyses and planning.
