Job summary

Reaxiomatic is seeking an IT and security infrastructure engineer to build and operate the company’s initial systems. You will design solutions that meet government standards (NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0) while staying practical for aerospace programs in San Diego.

Reporting to the Founder and CEO, you will manage vendors, stand up core networking, cloud and on-prem services, and develop a roadmap for secure, scalable infrastructure as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering IT and security systems within a defense or national security context.
• Experience aligning systems with NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0, and/or classified infrastructure requirements.
• Ability to balance compliance with usability for engineering teams.
• Proven capability to justify security decisions with first-principles reasoning and navigate regulatory constraints when necessary.
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, and external service providers across networking, cloud, and infrastructure deployments.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the company’s initial IT and security infrastructure.
• Design systems that meet government security requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0).
• Manage vendors, contractors, and external service providers.
• Develop a roadmap for secure and scalable infrastructure as the company grows.
• Produce required compliance artifacts for government contracts.
• Collaborate with other engineering functions to ensure systems meet programmatic needs.
