Job summary

Kform, a next-generation defense hardware maker, seeks an engineer to lead design, prototyping, and testing of complex hardware for defense and dual-use customers. You will work across mechanical, electrical, embedded software, and manufacturing to move ideas to production.

This hands-on role requires a strong engineering foundation (electrical or mech), 3–5 years of experience, and the ability to document decisions, mentor others, and drive manufacturability and quality on fast-paced programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • 3–5 years in product design, hardware development, prototyping, or multidisciplinary engineering.
  • Strong depth in at least one core engineering discipline with broad cross-functional knowledge.
  • Ability to document design decisions, revisions, test results, and technical tradeoffs clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of multidisciplinary hardware products for defense and dual-use customers.
  • Prototype and test mechanical assemblies, electronics, and embedded controls.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, embedded software, manufacturing teams.
  • Plan and execute testing to validate performance, reliability, manufacturability, and safety.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvements in processes.
