Job summary

The Squires Group, Inc. seeks a Defense Facilities Basing Consultant to provide engineering, architecture, infrastructure planning and cost analysis for basing initiatives in the DC area. You will prepare technical analyses and executive-level communications to support leadership decisions.

U.S. Citizens with an active SECRET clearance are required for day 1 start. This on-site role involves working with military programs and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver facility solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or planning discipline.
• Secret clearance required day 1 start.
• Experience with DoD corporate processes and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, architecture, and infrastructure planning for beddowns of military units and assets.
• Translate mission requirements into facility and infrastructure requirements, including scope, specs, and cost estimates.
• Develop documentation to support military construction and facility sustainment, restoration, and modernization projects.
• Prepare Class 4 and Class 5 cost estimates for infrastructure planning and capital improvement initiatives.
• Conduct analyses to support strategic basing and infrastructure decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and stakeholders on integrated infrastructure solutions.
• Prepare executive briefing materials, presentations, white papers, and responses for senior leadership.
• Integrate analyses and recommendations into decision-support materials for planning and investment decisions.
• Evaluate facility and infrastructure requirements for alignment with mission objectives and readiness.
• Provide SME guidance on infrastructure planning and facility development.

Overview

Our client is an award winning global integrator supporting a major branch of our Armed Forces. They have a need for an Defense Facilities Basing Consultant, in this role you will provide engineering, architecture, infrastructure planning, and cost analysis expertise to support the planning, documentation, and execution of mission-critical facility and basing initiatives while preparing technical analyses and executive-level communications to support senior leadership decision-making. This opportunity is on-site in theDC Area.

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, architecture, and infrastructure planning efforts to support the beddown of military units, weapon systems, and mission-critical assets.
• Analyze mission requirements and translate them into facility and infrastructure requirements, including scope, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Develop documentation to support military construction and facility sustainment, restoration, and modernization projects.
• Prepare Class 4 and Class 5 cost estimates for infrastructure planning and capital improvement initiatives.
• Conduct engineering, architectural, and site planning analyses to support strategic basing and infrastructure decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and stakeholders to develop integrated infrastructure solutions.
• Prepare executive-level briefing materials, presentations, white papers, summary documents, and responses for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Integrate technical analyses and recommendations into decision-support materials that inform strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Evaluate facility and infrastructure requirements to ensure alignment with mission objectives, operational readiness, and long‑term organizational goals.
• Provide subject matter expertise on infrastructure planning, facility development, and strategic basing initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or planning discipline
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience with a broad knowledge of DOD corporate processes and strategic partnerships
• Facilities project execution and oversight experience in DoW
• Secret clearance for day 1 start

Preferred Skills:

• Headquarters experience with staffing approval packages for facility requirements.
• Civil Engineer experience in the US Air Force or US Space Force highly desired.

Compensation:

• W2 Hourly rate: $60 - $70. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
