Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) seeks a skilled Cable Fabricator to build, test, and inspect power cables, RF/coaxial cables, and wire harnesses for the ACV FoV program. You will read blueprints, prepare wires, and terminate components with precision in a defense manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of aerospace/defense fabrication experience, IPC/WHMA-620 familiarity, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience fabricating cable, wire harness, or electro-mechanical assemblies in defense or regulated environments.
• Proficient with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards (certification preferred).
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and wire lists to fabricate cable and harness assemblies.
• Cut, strip, and prepare wires and cables to specified lengths and tolerances.
• Crimp, solder, and terminate connectors, lugs, splices, and back shells.
• Fabricate RF/coaxial cable assemblies with proper shielding and routing.
• Install shielding, sleeving, and strain relief per workmanship standards.
• Perform in-process and final electrical tests and document results.
• Identify nonconformances and support root-cause/corrective actions.
• Maintain 5S/ESD-safe workstation and proper tooling/calibration.
