Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Houston, TX seeks an Associate Attorney to join the Defense Base Act team. You will work closely with a supervising shareholder, manage a high-volume caseload, and gain hands-on experience in federal workers' compensation practice.

The ideal candidate has 0-4 years of litigation experience, a JD from an accredited law school, and Texas bar licensure. You'll draft pleadings, handle discovery, and participate in depositions and hearings while maintaining professional client

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school is required.
• Texas licensure to practice law is required.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills are essential.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload of Defense Base Act claims from inception to resolution.
• Collaborate with supervising shareholder to develop litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery and develop discovery plans.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Develop litigation plans to achieve favorable client outcomes.
• Prepare client reports and provide ongoing updates.
• Communicate with clients, claims professionals, and court personnel.
• Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and other proceedings.
• Assist with trial preparation and other litigation activities.
• Maintain professionalism and client service standards.
