Job summary

Great Lakes Petroleum Co. is seeking a CDL driver to load and unload DEF trucks and operate them safely according to company policy and law. You will handle daily vehicle maintenance checks, safety inspections, and complete required paperwork while ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA rules.

Candidates should have a valid CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, TWIC, and prior fuel transport experience preferred. Weekend hours and extended shifts may be required; home daily routes are possible.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record per DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are required.
• TWIC card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Prior fuel, petroleum, or hazmat transport experience preferred.
• Able to pass pre-employment DOT drug testing and random testing.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA qualification standards including Medical Certificate.
• Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
• Demonstrated safety, regulatory compliance and customer service.

Responsibilities

Description

This position is responsible for the proper and efficient completion of assigned duties and operation of their vehicle.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads DEF trucks adhering to all Company and Governmental regulations.
• Safely operates trucks according to Company policies and state/federal laws.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, nozzles, and other related articles as necessary.
• Performs safety inspections on trucks, equipment, and/or facilities as required by Company policy.
• Maintains miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, fuel, tires, and tank-related items daily.
• Reports any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns to Fleet Manager.
• Completes and transmits all paperwork in compliance with established Company procedures.
• Knowledge of and the ability to use loading arms and card readers at rack facilities, use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading vehicles, and use spill kits and fire extinguishers.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay range: $22 to $27 per hour (based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location).

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and an acceptable driving record that meets company and DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements REQUIRED.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) REQUIRED or ability to obtain one within 30 days after hire.
• Prior fuel, petroleum, or hazardous material transportation experience preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete DOT required pre-employment drug testing.
• Subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Must meet and maintain DOT and FMCSA qualification standards, including a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Availability to work weekends and extended hours as business needs require.
