Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced technical training (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• 2–5 years of experience in deep tech, startup, strategy, or consulting.
• Ability to understand and evaluate complex technical systems across domains.
• Strong commercial intuition and interest in scaling technologies.
• Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal judgment.
• Clear, structured thinking and exceptional written and verbal communication.
• High ownership, able to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform due diligence on scientific, technical, and commercial aspects and draft memorandums.
• Develop and maintain a broad network of researchers and entrepreneurs.
• Discuss and present new opportunities in weekly investment team meetings.
• Work with Partners to structure investments in deep tech.
• Support portfolio companies post-investment and help them grow.
• Represent Engine Ventures and advocate for Tough Tech.
• Take on new responsibilities and special projects as needed.
