Job summary

MOBY Robotics Inc. in Miami, FL seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our hardware team and help design, build, and test the electronics inside MOBY’s underwater robots.

You will work alongside engineers through schematic to integration, gaining hands-on experience across the complete electronics development cycle and mentorship from experienced engineers while contributing to real-world subsea robotics projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiar with the hardware development workflow and PCB design software.
• Strong hands-on skills, including soldering and standard lab equipment.
• Experience designing PCBs around microcontrollers and embedded Linux platforms.
• Ability to work with electronics in space-constrained or confined enclosures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with system planning, schematic design, and PCB layout for underwater robotics subsystems.
• Design power distribution, regulation, and interface circuitry for compute and sensor boards.
• Assemble, solder, test, and integrate PCBs into various projects.
• Test, debug, and troubleshoot electronics at the board and system level.
• Collaborate with engineers on fit, thermal considerations, and serviceability.
