Persona AI, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Deep Learning Manipulation Engineer to advance humanoid robots for heavy industry, tackling real-world tasks such as welding, maintenance, and material handling. You will shape manipulation strategies and infrastructure as an early team member.

You’ll work with the ML and autonomy teams to push cutting-edge models from concept to production, contributing to a world-class robotics platform.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience applying deep learning to robotic manipulation.
• Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art algorithms and practice in behavior cloning, vision-language-action models, diffusion policies, foundation models, etc.
• Experience with cloud computing and large-scale datasets.
• Understanding of deploying neural networks in real-world settings.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced deep learning models for dexterous robot manipulation.
• Train models with curriculum learning from simple interactions to complex tasks.
• Incorporate tactile sensing and proprioception into end-to-end pipelines for robust control.
• Collaborate with data and teleoperation teams on collection and versioning strategies.
• Deploy models to robotic hardware ensuring real-time performance and safety.
• Develop evaluation pipelines and measure generalization across tasks and environments.
