Job summary

Matroid Inc. is seeking a Deep Learning Engineer to advance our multimodal vision platform. You will take ideas from research to production, applying the latest techniques to solve real-world visual inspection problems for customers.

This role is onsite five days a week at our downtown Palo Alto office near Stanford, collaborating with product, infra, and field teams. You should have 3+ years in deep learning, CV, and software engineering, plus strong Python and PyTorch skills and experience

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry and/or academic experience in deep learning, computer vision, and software engineering.
• Experience building ML systems and capabilities, not just scripts or one-off experiments.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and PyTorch; you care about code quality.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Research: analyze latest CV and DL research and select components for our platform.
• Build: design, adapt, and train models across detection, segmentation, anomaly detection, tracking, and 3D reconstruction tasks.
• Engineer: turn models into scalable platform capabilities for customer data.
• Deploy: optimize architectures and deployment for fast, cost-efficient inference on cloud GPUs and edge devices.
• Collaborate: work with product, infra, and field teams to deliver impact.
