Job summary

Matroid is seeking a forward-deployed engineer to lead the deployment of vision-language and visual foundation models across manufacturing, automotive, logistics and more. You will build industrial-grade imaging systems and integrate Matroid into customer workflows, spanning cloud, edge, and hybrid environments.

You will define benchmarks, evaluate model performance, and collaborate with customers to tailor solutions, while presenting training sessions and deployment playbooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience with modern visual recognition models (detection, segmentation, tracking, action recognition, anomaly detection).
• Strong Python skills and ability to build production-grade systems.
• Experience with ML/vision frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Numpy, OpenCV.
• Proven ability to design benchmarks and improve model performance.

Responsibilities

• Train and deploy state-of-the-art vision-centric and vision-language models across industrial domains.
• Deploy end-to-end CV systems across cloud, edge, and hybrid environments.
• Define benchmarks and evaluate AI systems for accuracy, latency, and robustness; iterate to production requirements.
• Design and develop imaging systems for high-quality data collection.
• Integrate Matroid into customer workflows and systems with common industrial protocols.
• Advise on technical engagements, deployment architectures, and customer enablement.
