Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure, safe environment with awareness of safety hazards and patient observation.
• Accompany assigned patient at all times and ensure continuous monitoring.
• Follow policies for patient precautions and emergency plans; provide restraint alternatives when appropriate.
• Provide general patient care duties as directed by the registered nurse, including activities of daily living and nutrition-related tasks.
• Assist with meals, tray setup, and intake/output as directed by the RN; ensure proper diet.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and communicate with patients, families, and health professionals respectfully.
• Document patient information and communicate needs and changes to the RN; give shift reports when needed.
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in infection control practices.
