Precise Systems seeks a Decontamination Biologist with 1-5 years of molecular biology and microbiology experience focused on evaluating decontamination methods and equipment. The role involves sample prep, method development for decontamination of environmental samples and military hardware, and work across BSL-1/BSL-2 labs with potential future BSL-3 exposure.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field in the Life Sciences.
• 1-5 years practical laboratory experience in standard microbiological methods including viral culture.
• Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
• Strong understanding of microbiology principles.
• Excellent math skills for data interpretation.
• Meticulous documentation and SOP drafting.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and be self-motivated.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to independently design and execute experiments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments and safely perform laboratory techniques in BSL-1/2 environments; potential for BSL-3 work.
• Collaborate with a team to design, test, and deliver decontamination methods for small and large areas.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Document findings in notebooks and reports.
• Develop detection methods for field use and train for field demonstrations.
• Perform standard microbiological and virological techniques (cultures, plaque assays, TCID50, etc.).
• Follow and optimize decontamination methods for field use; train for demonstrations.
• Maintain safe, organized lab environment and coordinate complex repairs.
• Assist in developing new methodologies and compile data into reports.
