Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a deckhand responsible for cleaning the vessel, performing seasonal maintenance, and assisting in safety drills and emergencies. The role emphasizes high levels of customer service and safety awareness while enabling teamwork on deck operations.

Ideal candidates will be at least 18 years old with some relevant experience and the ability to operate deck equipment such as hoses and winches. Training and certifications may be required for licensing and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Six (6) months of experience in the same or similar position preferred.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
• Must be able to reach, grasp, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel.
• Must be able to operate a fire hose, winch, and davit.
• Must be able to throw and pull lines and use capstan and kevels to tie off the vessel.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of the vessel by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing the deck.
• Perform general seasonal maintenance on the vessel such as sanding and painting.
• Participate in passenger safety drills and assist in emergency situations.
• Communicate and provide the highest degree of customer service to customers.
• Throw and pull lines, use capstan and kevels to tie up the vessel.
