Job summary

Southern West Virginia Asphalt, Inc., a CRH company, is hiring a Plant Laborer/Deckhand in the Parkersburg area. The role includes unloading materials from barges, operating a loader and skid steer, and assisting in plant maintenance.

You will help with greasing, daily upkeep, and various manual tasks to keep the asphalt plant running efficiently. Candidates must be able to perform physical labor, pass a drug screening and background check, and occasionally work nights or weekends as required by

Qualifications

• Operate a loader and skid steer as part of daily duties.
• Perform basic maintenance, greasing, and plant upkeep to keep operations running.
• Assist in ground maintenance and cleanup to ensure a safe work site.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow schedules.
• Be prepared for night/weekend work and to pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Unload material from barges and operate loading equipment.
• Maintain asphalt plant and surrounding area; assist in minor servicing as needed.
• Perform shoveling, sweeping, painting, and basic mechanical duties.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Support other positions to meet daily schedules and estimates.
