Job summary

Jobtailor in Hyannis, MA seeks a capable crew member to assist with vessel operations and hydrographic survey support. You will handle lines during docking, operate deck equipment, load/unload cargo, and stand watch while maintaining safety procedures during offshore surveys in New England.

Qualifications

  • Current STCW BST, GWO, or BOSIET training.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Physician fitness for sea duty.
  • Ability to live in confined quarters.
  • Ability to work long hours in varying weather and sea conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with vessel operations and maintenance.
  • Handle lines during docking and undocking.
  • Operate deck equipment such as winches, cranes, capstans, or pumps.
  • Load and unload cargo, supplies, or equipment.
  • Stand watch and assist with navigation/lookout duties.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in drills.
  • Support emergency response activities.
  • Deploy on a vessel conducting hydrographic survey operations in New England.
  • Maintain a 12-hour daily watch during offshore operations.
