• Operate deck equipment such as winches, cranes, capstans, or pumps


• Load and unload cargo, supplies, or equipment


• Stand watch and assist with navigation/lookout duties


• Follow safety procedures and participate in drills


• Support emergency response activities


• Deploy on a vessel conducting hydrographic survey operations in New England


• Maintain a 12-hour daily watch during offshore 12-hour or 24-hour operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (often preferred)


• Current STCW Basic Safety Training (BST), GWO, or BOSIET training


• Current CPR/First Aid certification


• Physician certification of fitness for sea duty


• Not susceptible to chronic motion sickness


• Ability to live in confined quarters


• Ability to tolerate stress


• Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds


• Ability to vigilantly monitor surrounding waters for up to 4 hours at a time and no more than 12 hours in a 24-hour period


• Proof of eligibility to work within the US


• Previous marine, construction, labor, or offshore experience preferred


• Ability to work long hours in varying weather and sea conditions


• Physical capability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor


• Basic mechanical aptitude
