Boston Harbor City Cruises - Deckhand Position

Boston Harbor City Cruises is seeking Deckhands for our operation aboard the Spirit of Boston and the Odyssey in Boston, MA.

Salary Range: Starting at $15/hour.

About You:

We are looking for individuals who are adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

As part of our marine team, Deckhands assist the Captain with docking and undocking, ensure guest safety and comfort, and maintain vessel appearance and cleanliness. No prior experience is required; training will be provided. This entry-level position offers a pathway to a maritime career. Safety and professionalism are paramount, and skills in mechanical, electrical, carpentry, or painting are a plus but not required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers.
• Follow safety procedures to protect passengers and the vessel.
• Participate in routine safety drills.
• Handle lines to moor vessels to the pier.
• Stand watch to observe obstructions or navigational aids.
• Assist in maintaining vessel equipment and systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of all areas.
• Clean decks and exterior surfaces.
• Load/unload materials and remove trash.
• Service and supply restrooms.
• Be punctual for scheduled work hours.
• Maintain appearance standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work extended periods standing.
• Ability to throw mooring lines.
• Normal color vision.
• May need a Transportation Workers ID Card.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Proficient with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
