Job summary

Commonpoint Bronx is seeking a dependable swim instructor for weekend shifts to support our pool program. You will lead daily activities, conduct pre-shift briefings, and monitor student attendance while communicating progress to families.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, CPR/AED certification, and prior swim instruction experience. This role offers growth opportunities and exposure to youth programs in a community setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Availability to work weekend shifts only (Saturday and Sunday required).
• Must pass background examinations (included with training).

Responsibilities

• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and prepare the deck for each shift.
• Complete daily Deck Supervisor logs on assigned shifts and monitor student attendance.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Coordinate tasks to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pool facility.
• Act as a substitute swim instructor when necessary.
• Participate in required training and in-services.
