Welding is seeking a Deck Engineer Machinist, a Civil Service Mariner (CIVMAR) employed by the Navy to support the Military Sealift Command on naval auxiliaries and hybrid-manned vessels worldwide. The role requires maintenance and operation of deck and UNREP equipment, plus proficiency with shop tools and welding processes.

Involvement in emergency drills and QA of shore-side repairs is expected. Minimum eligibility includes US citizenship, TWIC/CAC, MMC with Engine endorsement or equivalent,

Competenze

• Must be a United States citizen at least 18 years old.
• Hold a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and/or DoD CAC with at least 10 months remaining.
• Have a USCG Merchant Mariner’s Credential (MMC) with Deck Engineer endorsement or equivalent.
• Have a USCG Medical Certificate without Limitations/Restrictions.
• Endorsements: RFPEW and Able Seafarer Engine.

Mansioni

• Maintain, repair, and operate deck machinery and UNREP equipment.
• Operate hydraulic systems, piping, and cargo handling gear including cranes and winches.
• Supervise quality on work by shipyard or shore personnel as directed.
• Participate in drills for fire, boat operations, and damage control.
