Job summary

The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School seeks a Sustainability and Energy Manager to lead and evaluate programs advancing sustainability, environmental justice, and community engagement across the campus.

This role guides decarbonization initiatives, energy efficiency, and sustainable operations, collaborating with leadership, facilities, researchers, staff, students, and external partners to deliver measurable environmental and social outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in relevant fields required; master’s desirable.
• 5+ years in sustainability, environmental justice, or related programs.
• Proven grant-funding track record for sustainability initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of sustainability data, metrics, and visualization tools.
• Experience facilitating cross-department collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead sustainability, energy, decarbonization, and environmental justice programs.
• Build and manage dashboards for project analysis, tracking, and verification.
• Lead data reporting for internal and external stakeholders and regulatory needs.
• Engage campus community, faculty, staff, and partners in energy and sustainability initiatives.
• Secure funding through grants, incentives, and partnerships.
• Coordinate with facilities, operations, and researchers on capital projects.
