Job summary

LISC Massachusetts seeks a dynamic Program Officer to catalyze energy efficiency and decarbonization in Massachusetts' multifamily affordable housing sector. You will work with the Deputy Director to assess services, identify gaps, and advance program solutions across grants, technical assistance, and policy initiatives.

The role includes managing major programs, cultivating funder relationships, and driving data-driven results to strengthen underinvested communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) required; master's preferred or relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years in sustainability, affordable housing, real estate development, community development finance, urban planning, lending, public policy, nonprofit program management, or related field work in neighborhoods.
• Knowledge of green building and sustainable development strategies, standards, and policies.
• Experience in grant writing, management, and reporting.
• Experience in data and policy analysis.
• Demonstrated commitment to community development and/or economic empowerment.
• Ability to balance creativity and innovation with outcomes-based program evaluation, data management, and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex matters and programs and coordinate with internal/external parties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of the Climate Ready Housing Program and outreach materials.
• Manage the STAR Solar Program and provide grants to eligible organizations.
• Manage the Community Charge Program and provide subgrants for selected participants.
• Cultivate relationships with funders, financial institutions, public agencies, and philanthropic partners.
• Convene the Energy Cohort and plan meetings, roundtables, forums, and tours.
• Provide 1-on-1 support for decarbonization efforts and participate in coalitions.
• Maintain the Decarbonization Hub and stay informed on funding sources.
• Support policy advocacy for decarbonization resources at state/local levels.
