Job summary

Chehalis School District seeks a DECA Assistant Advisor for W.F. West High School for the 2026/27 school year, starting 9/21/2026. The role supports DECA activities, mentoring, and event prep, with stipends based on experience ($1,739–$2,148).

Qualifications

• Valid state teaching certification preferred.
• BAM CTE certification/V-code or related CTE experience preferred.
• Experience or interest in business education, marketing, entrepreneurship, or student organizations preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and travel for DECA events.
• Knowledge of DECA programs and competitive events preferred; training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating chapter meetings, activities and events.
• Support and mentor students in marketing, business, finance, hospitality, management and entrepreneurship.
• Help students prepare for regional, state, and national DECA competitions.
• Assist with student leadership activities, workshops and training opportunities.
• Support fundraising, community service projects, field trips, conferences and other DECA activities.
• Chaperone and supervise students at DECA events and competitions.
• Communicate with students and parents regarding DECA activities and deadlines.
• Maintain chapter records, membership information and required documentation.
• Collaborate with staff, administration, community members and business partners to support DECA opportunities.
• Ensure DECA activities follow district policies and DECA guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
